Africa Media Online is looking for a Production Manager to manage Digitisation at our Pietermaritzburg office.
JOB TITLE: Production Manager: Digitisation
REPORTS TO: Director
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Extremely well organised
Good inter-personnel skills to manage a team and deal with clients
Enjoys creating and managing systems
Able to hold others to a high standard of work
Can plan and keep others to deadlines
Comfortable with all forms of technology
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
To manage digitisation projects from start to finish, setting timelines, working with a team of capture operators, retouchers and metadata capturers to ensure the project is delivered on time and at a professional standard
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Total responsibility for the digitisation production workflow
Checking new projects in
Scheduling the projects in relation to current projects on Instagantt
Agreeing a deadline with client
Assigning responsibilites to members of the team using Asana project management tool
Creating milestones with associated deadlines
Following up on all actions to check they remain on target
Keeping clients up to date with progress on the project
Checking the quality of the work being done
Ensuring that the project is finished and ready for delivery within time
Delivering the materials and digitised files back to clients on time
Helping to solve problems as they arise
Managing the office so as to provide a condusive enviornment for success
Ensuring all related admin is kept up to date
Helping the company to improve systems
Ensuring minimum wastage and maximum productivity
Generating reports as required for management and the Board.
Assist in other areas of the business as requested by management
TIME FRAME: Starting asap or latest 1 April full time, with a 3 month trial period and contract until the end of 2017
